Architectural Engineering Undergraduate Program
건축공학전공은 건축의 공학적인 모든 부분을 연구하는 분야이다. 건축물이 안전하게 설계되고 시공될 수 있도록 연구하는 구조설계, 설계대로 건축물이 건설될 수 있는 기술을 연구하는 건축시공, 그리고 건축물에서의 빛, 음, 열 등을 연구하는 건축환경 분야로 크게 나누어진다. 세부적으로 환경, 시공, 건설경영, 구조 및 구조재료 등을 배우고 연구하게 된다. 구체적으로 건축공학전공에서는 공과대학에서 요구하는 수학, 물리 등 이공계 교과목의 이수가 필수적이며, 그와 더불어 공학수학, 유체역학, 열역학 및 열전달, 건설경영, 시공기술, 재료역학, 구조역학, 구조설계 및 계획설계 등에 이르는 교과목을 공부할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 창의적인 공학설계를 통하여 혁신적이고 친환경적인 건축물의 설계기술 능력을 갖추게 된다. 우리 학과는 건축공학의 다양한 설계기술 능력과 엔지니어로서의 기본지식을 활용하여 보다 안전하고 경제적이며 사람이 사용하기에 편리하고 편안한 건축물을 구현하도록 교육하고 있다. 더하여 내진, 내풍, 내화, 내구성 및 보수보강 등의 현실적인 문제를 공학적으로 해결할 수 있게끔 실용적인 면을 강조하고 있다. 산업과의 연계를 통해 살아있는 전공지식을 지니도록 도와주며, 경제 및 경영에 대한 기본 소양도 함께 교육한다.
건축공학교육인증 프로그램
서울대학교 공학사 학위는 한국공학교육인증원(ABEEK)이 제시하는 인증기준 및 절차를 준수하고 건축공학교육 인증을 취득한 프로그램이다. 한국공학교육인증원의 기본방침은 대학의 공학 및 관련 교육을 위한 교육 프로그램 기준과 지침을 제시하고, 이를 통해 인증 및 자문을 시행함으로써 공학 교육의 발전을 촉진하고 실력을 갖춘 공학기술 인력을 배출하는데 기여하기 위한 것으로 인증된 프로그램을 이수한 졸업생이 실제 공학 현장에 효과적으로 투입될 수 있는 준비가 되었음을 보장하며, 공학교육의 발전을 촉진하고 산업과 사회가 필요로 하는 실력을 갖춘 공학기술인력을 배출할 수 있도록 기여한다.
본 건축공학교육인증 프로그램의 교육목표는 다음과 같다.
1. 건설 분야의 리더양성 (도덕적, 사회적 책임감을 지닌 지도자로서의 자질과 폭넓은 기술적 소양과 경영마이드를 겸비)
2. 건설산업의 글로벌 리더 양성 (지식기반사회에서 요구되는 소양과 국제적 감각을 겸비)
3. 국제적 수준의 연구개발능력 및 고급기술능력을 함양
서울대학교 건축공학 학위 교육 프로그램은 2015년 봄학기에 인증을 받았으며, 향후 3년간 지속된다.

졸업 후 진로
졸업 후 대학원 학위취득 및 건축관련 자격증을 취득하여 전문적인 실무를 수련할 수 있다. 또한 건축설계, 인테리어 디자인, 감리 및 CM회사, 건축관련 공기업 및 연구소, 건축직 공무원, 건설회사 등에 진출할 수 있다.
Seoul National University Department of Architecture undergraduate program has a 5-year program of Architecture and 4-year program of Architectural Engineering. In undergraduate program, there are degree courses of Bachelor of Architecture for Architecture major, and Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering for Architectural Engineering major. Graduate program offers Master of Science in Architectural Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture & Architectural Engineering.
Architectural Engineering major students research all aspects of engineering part of architecture. The students study mainly on structural design to learn how to design and construct buildings safely, building construction to learn the techniques to construct by the designs, and architectural environment to learn about light, sound, heat, and any other factors from the buildings. The students learn more in depth on environment, construction, construction management, structure, structural materials, and etc. In Architectural Engineering major, the students are required to take natural science subjects, such as mathematics, physics, earth science, and etc., and the students are able to take engineering mathematics, hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, construction management, construction technology, material mechanics, structural mechanics, structural design, planning, and etc. Through the creative engineering designs, the students will acquire innovative and eco-friendly architectural design technology skills. The department supports the students to learn the variety of architectural design technology skills, and materialize architecture that is safe, economical and convenient for people to use by applying the basic knowledge as engineers. Furthermore, the department emphasizes in practical aspects by the realistic issues and problems such as earthquake resistance, aerodynamics, fire resistance, rehabilitation, and etc., in order for the students to solve them in engineering way. Through the link with the industries, and the basic knowledge on economics and management, the department helps to acquire the knowledge of architectural engineering.
Architecture Educational Accrediting Program
Seoul National University Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering degree has fulfilled the certification criteria and procedures that comply with Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), and has received the accreditation for professional architectural engineering program. The basic policy of ABEEK presents the standards and guidelines of education program for schools’ engineering and any other related education. Through this policy, certification and consultation are implemented to contribute to the development of engineering education and produce technical engineering personnel with skills. Furthermore, the students who have completed this certified program will be able to proceed effectively to the engineering field in the future. The policy will also promote in the development of engineering education, and will help to produce engineering personnel with the skills that are needed in the industries and societies. Seoul National University Architectural Engineering degree education program has received the certification in the spring semester of 2015, and it will last for 3 more years.
Career after Graduate
After graduating, students are able to work professionally by acquiring registered architect license or any other architecture related license. Some students continue on to graduate school; however, most of the students employ at architectural design firms, such as architectural design, interior design, design supervision, architecture related state-owned companies, architectural R&D centers, architectural government employee, construction companies and etc.

건축학과에서는 2016학년도 봄학기부터 건축학, 건축공학전공을 구분하지 않고 신입생을 모집한다. 2016학년도 이후 입학생의 경우 1,2학년에 새롭게 편성되는 통합 교과과정을 이수하여 각 전공의 기초적인 내용을 습득하고, 입학 후 2학년 4개 학기를 마친 학생은 ‘건축학/건축공학’ 전공분리를 통해 해당 전공과목을 이수함으로써 관심분야에 대한 보다 심층적인 학습이 이루어지게 된다.

From spring semester in 2016, Department of Architecture is accepting new students regardless of dividing Architecture and Architectural Engineering. The students who enrolled after the year of 2016 will be completing the new integrated curriculum in 1st and 2nd year to acquire the basic contents of each major, and through selection of architecture or architectural engineering in 3rd year (5th semester), students will complete the courses in depth for their majors.

1) 졸업이수학점 130학점 이상을 취득해야 한다.
2) 생명존중(자살예방) 교육을 반드시 1학년 재학 중에 이수해야 한다.
3) 1과목 이상의 전공교과목을 포함하여 3과목 이상의 외국어진행강좌를 수강해야 한다.
4) 학부 2학년(4학기) 이상 이수한 학생은 졸업 이전까지 인턴쉽 프로그램(4주 이상)에 참가해야 한다.
5) 4학년 학생들은 여름에 개최하는 건축전에 참가하여 졸업 작품을 전시해야 한다.
6) 졸업논문을 작성하여 제출해야 한다.
7) ABEEK 공학교육인증 조건을 충족해야 한다.

1) Academic Credits : Students must obtain minimum 130 credits.
2) Students must take at least 3 classes taught by foreign language including major.
3) Internship : Upon completing 3 years of studies(6 semesters), students must participate in an internship program(over 4weeks) to work for a local design firm.
4) Annual Exhibition : During their first 4 years of studies, students selected for outstanding works can participate in the Annual Exhibition. All students must successfully complete their final year graduation project and exhibit their works in the Annual Exhibition
5) Graduation Thesis : Students must submit a graduation thesis that has been approved by their designated academic advisors
6) Students should complete requirements for ABEEK.
7) Students must complete life respect(suicide prevention) education during 1st year and submit the certificate to the department.
