This course focuses on stress and strain analysis based on the equilibrium conditions of the forces, geometrical compatibility, the mechanical properties of the material, and other fundamental knowledges of the structural system.

Based on the basic concepts of statics and material mechanics, it aims to enhance the ability to analyze structural behavior of basic structural systems. Specifically, students will learn how to analyze the member forces and displacements of statically determinate structures and indeterminate structural systems (beams, trusses, frames).
